International Hydrogen Task Force
Five years after the Paris Agreement, Governments and companies, driven by the urgency of decarbonizing economic and industrial activities massively, are increasingly relying on renewable and low-carbon hydrogen.
The rise of this clean and sustainable energy vector calls for proactive public policies and the full mobilization of all players of the hydrogen sector. In several States, a dedicated plan to accelerate the domestic development of renewable and low-carbon hydrogen has been launched. The development of hydrogen is therefore a global, European and national move.
France, for its part, presented in 2020 a national strategy for the development of low-carbon hydrogen, the ecological, technological and economic challenge of which is to create and to structure a cutting-edge French industrial sector competitive at an international level.
In this promising context for hydrogen, both in France and abroad, France Hydrogène and MEDEF International decided to join forces to carry out actions at an international level promoting French companies of the hydrogen sector. To this aim, France Hydrogène and MEDEF International set up a Task Force of companies dedicated to hydrogen.
What is the Hydrogen Task Force ?
The Hydrogen Task Force is a private initiative, led by two business associations, MEDEF International, the French private business network at an international level, and France Hydrogène, the association bringing together all the French players belonging to the hydrogen value chain.
The TFH relies on complementarity and on respective strengths of both associations.
The Hydrogen Task Force brings together, first of all, members of MEDEF International, France Hydrogène and of partner organization (GICAN, Syntec Ingénierie, FIEV) but welcomes also French companies carrying hydrogen projects on foreign markets or interested in developing such projects.
Committed to collective spirit and to building strong business networks, MEDEF International and France Hydrogène pay particular attention to foster interactions between companies of all sizes and amplifying experience sharing.
To fulfill its mission, the Hydrogen Task Force relies on the operational teams and networks of MEDEF International and France Hydrogen. A Steering Committee defines its priorities.
A joint initiative of two business associations, the Hydrogen Task Force is part of the collective effort led by Governments and private sector to accelerate the decarbonization of economic and industrial activities.
The Hydrogen Task Force’s mission is:
- to promote and showcase French companies and their offers in the hydrogen sector within foreign public and private decision makers and clients,
- to provide a collective support to French companies in the hydrogen sector in order to facilitate the identification of business opportunities & partnerships, the identification of relevant actors and decision-makers for their projects and for their financing on foreign markets.
The Hydrogen Task Force is meant to act exclusively at an international level, with a particular attention paid to emerging and developing markets.
Hydrogen Task Force’s services for companies

H40 Index aims to support hydrogen start-ups and small caps in their international development strategy :
Promote networking and the sharing of experience between start-ups and stakeholders in the sector, and putting them in touch with the right contacts at international level: private and public decision-makers.
Provide exposure for innovative start-ups in the sector by relying on the reputation of the Hydrogen Task Force and its partners. Communication with foreign decision-makers and ecosystems, communication on social networks, booklets, dedicated events, etc.
Making it financially easier to access the operations of the Hydrogen Task Force when these are paid for (free of charge, discount).
