Projects taking shape, funding confirmed, and new industrial partnerships: the French hydrogen sector continues to scale up across the regions. 

Here are the key highlights for April 2026 :

Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes 

RotH2 completes a €6.6M capital raise, including €2.7M from new investors, to accelerate R&D on next-generation hydrogen storage technologies. 

Bretagne 

H2X-Ecosystems commissions StatHy, its own hydrogen refueling station. 

Operated by GCK Energy, the Région Bretagne piloted the StatMobHy experiment, a temporary renewable hydrogen refueling station at the port of Saint-Malo. 

Corse 

Corsica Sole installs a compression and pressure-boosting container on its Folell’Hy hydrogen plant. 

Grand Est 

45-8 ENERGY announces the entry of Swiss group Ad Terra into its capital as majority shareholder, in order to accelerate its natural hydrogen exploration campaigns.  

Ile-de-France 

Beyond Aero selects Luxaviation Group as its launch operator or its hydrogen-electric business aircraft. 

HysetCo secures Uber‘s first investment in a French company, enabling the integration of nearly 2,000 premium hydrogen vehicles into Uber’s Business Taxi service in Paris. 

HyLight’s hydrogen powered airship drone is being tested by Sigeif to inspect gas infrastructure from low altitude.

Normandie 

VERSO ENERGY‘s DEZiR project is selected as one of the first two participants in Project SkyPower’s eSAF Project Accelerator. 

Nouvelle-Aquitaine 

VERSO ENERGY, RYAM and the European Commission sign the Innovation Fund grant agreement for the ReSTart project. 

Occitanie 

Qair inaugurates its first renewable hydrogen station in Béziers, capable of distributing up to 600 kg/day. 

Canadian company SAF+ International Group confirms a Franco-Canadian project to build a 75kt/year eSAF production plant at Port-La-Nouvelle. 

Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur 

GravitHy selects Hatch to carry out the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) of its low-carbon iron production plant in Fos-sur-Mer.
